Advancing policies that support fair treatment and full participation for all people in Connecticut
Our MISSION
Impact CT believes all individuals and families across Connecticut – irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity or gender -- have the right to live in an equitable Connecticut, with equal access to opportunity and pathways for success, a top-notch education, safe communities, affordable housing, and access to affordable healthcare. Through the support of candidates for elected office, Impact CT aims to advance policies that support fair treatment and full participation for all people in Connecticut, especially those who have historically been disenfranchised.
Housing
We believe that everyone in Connecticut deserves access to a safe, healthy place to live. We support policies that address rising housing costs, encourage the construction of safe, secure, affordable housing, increase housing choice for people of all incomes, and reduce homelessness.
Healthcare
We believe that every resident deserves access to high quality, affordable healthcare. We support policies designed to promote health equity - addressing crucial disparities in life outcomes across Connecticut's communities.
Education
We believe every child in Connecticut deserves access to early childhood, k-12 and higher education that prepares them for a successful life. We support policies that increase access to quality public schools in communities that need them, with a particular focus on programs that prepare students to succeed in today's economy.
Criminal Justice reform
We believe every resident of Connecticut deserves to be treated fairly by the criminal justice system. We support policies that will reduce disparities in the criminal justice system - including sentencing and bail reform.
Wealth Generation
We believe in policies that promote upward mobility for Connecticut households - especially those that have been historically disenfranchised. We support policies that will reduce wealth disparities, open up access to capital, and invest in the workforce of the future - including emerging industries that will drive the future of Connecticut’s economy.
“We believe Connecticut must do more to create opportunity for all our residents. More quality and affordable housing and homeownership options, equitable access to better healthcare, and better schools – if we can improve in each of these areas, more people will have access to more and better economic opportunities moving forward. And that benefits everyone in our state.”
-Toni Harp, former Mayor of New Haven and Connecticut State Senator
